We've got some overlap so far (Omni, Sofia Bolt, The Umbrellas, The Waeve, Good Looks, Porridge Radio, BOEDGA, The Lovely Eggs, Julie, Fake Fruit), even with standout tracks (feminine adornments, My Mood Wave, possibly more but I haven't narrowed them down yet). I need to listen to Liz Lawrence and illuminati hotties again. I saw Gustaf live recently but don't remember if I've listened to their album, so need to check that out too. The Umbrellas fell out of favor a little bit. Inferior dude singers often ruin the vibe for me (See also: Dehd) but maybe I'm just being moody. I need to revisit cumgirl8 as well. I've liked some singles but the album hasn't come together for me, no pun intended. Looking forward to future installments.

There’s a whole tonne of stuff here I haven’t even heard of which is pretty exciting. I saw Gustaf support Yard Act earlier in the year and they were outstanding but the album has not grabbed me as yet. I love that Madra is here and also Peanuts. I totally agree this is a brilliant album and more people should know about Liz Lawrence. I’ve seen her as a support act a few times now and she’s always great but her headline tour with full band was utterly brilliant. I think she’s fantastic.

My pick for records which should not be appearing until the next instalment (at least) is Where’s My Utopia? It’s top ten this year for me, for sure.

Yard Act really does have a great record this year but there's just SO MUCH good stuff that it got beat out pretty handily. I'll be curious to know what you think of the albums I chose as top 10 worthy (and funnily enough there are way more than 10, even after all that talk of lower numbers each week... it'll be less than 20 though!)

I’m really interested to see your picks. I’ve listened to the Umbrellas and Eels records this morning off the back of your list and I like them both a lot. Just seen Eels are playing Bristol next February too!

“Imagine if the Raveonettes threw down a mosh pit in outer space every once in a while,” has me sold on checking out The Lovely Eggs. Quite a few excellent-sounding records in here that I missed.

They opened for Thus Love on the Northeast portion of their tour, Nina and Zack are originally from Brattleboro and they’re all homies.
