A brand new community Discord server and a brand new way to hear albums before they drop (while chatting with the band!). First up: The Tisburys on April 13th!

A New Way to Listen to Music Together

Record release parties are great. You get to hear a new album before it’s released, mingle with new people, and maybe even meet the band.

But what if you could do all that without having to “know a guy,” without needing to be on a guest list, without having to dish out the awkward small talk, without even getting off your couch?

I’m all for getting out there and being more social IRL, but sometimes record release parties aren’t convenient or even available. They might be super exclusive (me, I never know a guy), or they might not fit into your schedule. Or you might just not feel like going out.

So with the help of local Philly (and Substack!) favorites The Tisburys, I am kicking off a little experiment . . .

The First Ever New Bands for Old Heads Listening Party

Be the first to hear The Tisburys’ upcoming album A Still Life Revisited — nearly two weeks before release.

• WHAT: A full-album listening party of The Tisburys upcoming release A Still Life Revisited (dropping April 25th)

• WHO: The Tisburys are an Americana-meets-power-pop band from Philadelphia. S.W. Lauden has a fantastic interview with them that you can read here.

• WHEN: Sunday April 13th, 4pm Eastern

  • Busy that day? Don’t worry, the album stream will stay up until release day so you can listen and chat asynchronously.

• WHERE: The brand new New Bands for Old Heads Discord!

• HOW: We listen to the full album while chatting with the band (and each other)!
